About Eva

As a child and younger adult, I loved spending time perusing galleries and exhibitions, never believing I had the ability to paint or create art. I actually chanced upon this great love as an adult, when moving to the quirky and inspirational seaside town of Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, UK.

Leigh (as the locals call it) boasts multiple art and craft galleries, comedy venues and music festivals, and in no time, I was ensnared in its creative and artistic grasp.

Art captivates and draws people together, building communities and legacies, and once I felt its pull, I could not help but want to paint, spending every spare moment surrounded by once-virginal canvases and paint splattered furniture!

Many years on, I have moved counties, completed commissions, shown my paintings in exhibitions and sold my work to complete strangers, and feel that I can call myself an artist!

Whilst living in Leigh, and prior to that in the stunning beachside town of Sumner in New Zealand, my attraction and empathy with the sea, mountains and coast has been almost magnetic. The sand, hills and ocean is where I breathe, where I come alive, and it is the world I love to paint.

I hope that my paintings make you think, and maybe even travel, to the scenes and emotions I have tried to capture. Above all, I hope they make you smile, and wonder at the magnificence of our world, and impassion you to preserve her beauty, diversity and imperfect perfection.
